Suit up!
According to 2 people in my office, today I looked “suited up”. Ya, right- with my jeans! Either way, all good here, its nice to be noticed. And it made me chuckle, thinking of Barney Stinson. I am loving this necklace I picked up for $5 over the weekend. Honestly I’m not much of a jewellery wearer myself- but I have the feeling I might be turning into one. Working in a more...

The sun is shining.
Enjoyed a perfect winters weekend in Sydney. Bike rides to our favourite cafe, sushi roulette with gal pals and pub dinners with boyfs mates. Helped my Granny install a set-top box too. I love how the oldies just don’t get technology. I can’t wait to be like that. In more fashion related news, 2 new pairs of jeans for $100. I’m loving the higher waist. Can’t wait to keep...

Keepin' Warm
I got a haircut today. It was looong overdue. Finally, I feel like I have found a happy medium with what to wear. I’m not riding my bike, so I don’t have to work out what won’t adapt to my bike.. I’m at a company, so I have to fit in.. But on top of that I’m still working in a lab so I gotta be work appropriate! Does anyone out there feel like that sometimes?

(I hate the term go-to) but meet my blouse.
Probably the nicest outfit I’ll ever wear to work. In fact, I wore this blouse and jacket to the interview I had for this very job! We had “the Americans” in the office this week (I work in a company that has been bought out by a larger American firm) and it was their last day. This involved handing out of re-branding merch and a BBQ. It was delish! I have to say, that if...

New Job, No Camera.
Hey you guys, sorry for the lack of posts. I’m not even sure if these should be posted (I left my camera at the old job, so I used Photo Booth this morning and these are soooo grainy. I’ll try to get it back this weekend some time).
So, new job = new look. When I started there was no “dress code” passed on to me, so I had to dig deep and try remember what everyone was...

Sewing & Biking, my greatest joys.
Do you like my skirt? I made it from a men’s shirt I bought for $7, and some elastic thanks to Megan’s DIY. I think I’ll be making many more.. they are so enjoyable to wear and great to ride in. Not much more to tell you except that I am off to watch the Socceroo’s play Germany over the long weekend at a live site here in Sydney- its a shame the game isn’t till...

Chambray to the rescue.
Here’s to more frequent posts! I have been dying to find a denim or chambray shirt to pair with my ultimate winter look but I just can’t find anything to fit the bill. This shirt dress is something I spent waaaay too much on about a year or two ago, but it’s been the closest thing to a plain denim shirt that I can get my hands on! Its far too hot to wear riding my bike with a...

New home.
I’m alive I swear! Its just been uber busy with the move, my housewarming/birthday celebrations and roof leaks at my new place! Boy, I can really pick ‘em hey!? Also, sadly, its my last full week at this job. Now, that in itself is sad for many reasons, but my numero uno reason for sadness has to be that I’ll no longer be a bicycle commuter. Back to the Bus/Train dance with...

The Boxes and Me.
For me, it’s always hard to pack.. I think I find it so hard because you have to strategically plan your life around the “moving date”. You can’t pack this, or that, because you need to use it up until the day you move! And clothes are way hard too! How can I pack them when I don’t know what I’ll be wearing for the week!?
Anyway, TGIF and I move tomorrow. I...

Wooly Finale- The Grand Reveal!
Check out my friend Wooly. He’s all painted, shiney and new again. The handlebars have been switched (I don’t like how drop handlebars feel .. so Lycra Army to me!). He’s been fitted with my trusty Kmart basket and with a brand spanking new derailleur/derailer depending on your spelling preferences. I still want to buy him some fenders and a rear rack, but he’s great to...

Cycle-vest Chic?
The cycling course I took on Saturday was one of the greatest community run/ council organised events I have ever attended. I feel 100 times more confident riding with traffic, and although my bike lost its pedal, riding a mountain bike took me right back to my childhood! I wish more cities would run these events, its all about communicating with all road users and understanding that the road is...

Free Sydney Cycling Courses!
Any wanna-be Sydney Cyclists out there?
The City of Sydney is offering FREE Cycling Courses to encourage biking as a genuine mode of transport. They’ve been working hard to upgrade cycling infrastructure (although nothing like that of those biking cities in Europe!) and they realise that there are heaps of people out there that can & want to ride, but aren’t all that confident...

Schoolboy pants and ballet flats.
I really feel like my weekend isn’t complete if I haven’t hunted around for some op shop/market/garage sale gold! I’m betting these grey schoolboy pants will be my best friends through winter. They are a little thin (nothing a pair of stockings won’t fix once it gets cold) but for $2.50 they slip on (like trackies haha) and look a little bit “cool”...

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes..
Hey, so life is pretty damn good at the mo, no? If you were reading this AND wondering, yes I did get the job! The interview was yesterday and I found out today.. I’m pretty damn lucky for the quick turn around. I will finish here in a month and a bit, so no farewells (yet), but the new job means a train-train or a train-bus commute.. which means, unless I grow super balls-y I...

C'mon colder temps!
I’ve kinda been a busy bee of late, applying for jobs and dreaming of my future home! I took some friends around my local area over the weekend, we went to the markets (scored this hat, a shirt and some sunnies!), ate sugary cream cheese bagels, bruschetta, cola/raspberry slurpies and had an all round good time! Cheers to Autumn and Winter!
Today I wore … top (Ladakah?), skirt...

Jump up & get down.
We woke up to a glorious, misty, foggy morning today! Just what I had been wanting after all the sun we had on hols. It made me want to jump around and be more foolish than usual, possibly helped by the fact that my fella was taking the photos and not a timer. What prompted me to take these shots isn’t that I am wearing anything of interest really, but that usually you would see the cbd...

Back to it.
When you come back from a holiday, do you ever feel as though, all of a sudden, you are lost and unsure about what to wear to work the next day? I had that exact feeling this morning, when I realised that I wouldn’t be putting on my swimmers, a short loose dress and heading down to the buffet for breaky.
So, with this in mind I popped on the trusty thrifted skirt, reached for a blouse...

DIY shoe design →
Probably one of the coolest websites around for fun.
No joke, you get to create your own shoe choosing the heel, toe, fabric, colour etc. Then, if you actually want the pair (which I have no doubt you will), the ShoesOfPrey experts make the shoes and ship them to your door! Internationally!
Go on, have a go. I just made these!

Nearing a proper person now.
Hey! How’s life? I’m trying to buy a unit.. you know the drill.. Saving my $$.. although I have a weeks holiday in Fiji all pre-paid starting on Monday! Go figure.
In other news, I officially graduate on Friday- keep me in mind so that I don’t trip up (or worse, down) stairs. I have NO IDEA what I will wear. Any graduates out there? What did you don on your big day? I did...

The Dolphins and I, we are one.
Last weekend, the boyf and I cashed in our Christmas voucher from my mum. A true swim with wild dolphins experience was on offer, but there was no guarantee that dolphins would be there to play. After five hours sleep we dragged our sleepy selves out of bed at half six, to a beautiful still ocean front with the sun creeping up over the horizon. And lucky we were. Not only did we see wild...

Here’s an image dump instead!
I want to grow old gracefully with the love of my life.. It warms my heart to see oldies living their lives together just as they did when they were youngins’.
We drove home along the coast, this was about 20 minutes from the beach pictured above. I love how the east coast of NSW changes so dramatically over such a short distance.

The Goods.
Note, one navy vintage wool suite with perfect gold buttons.
One pair of white doeskin gloves. Score? I think so!
You know, I refused to buy the gloves until I had researched possible ways to wash them (who wants perfect white gloves for winter when they’ll get really dirty after a single wear, and you don’t know how to clean them!? Not I.) I hear pure soap flakes are key.....

Sydney Vintage Fashion Market.
I had the pleasure of attending the Sydney Vintage Fashion Market on Saturday! What a well run show it was. It’s nice to show up, pay entry and know that all the goods are vintage AND screened for quality. Of course this doesn’t give you a rush like thrifting does (and by that I mean finding a hidden gem for the price of a cheeseburger) and with inflated pricing it’s...

And the story continues.
See?? Rust free! Well, rust free-ish anyway.
I kinda like him grey, but I think his classic white looks should be maintained?

Spot on.
So here we are again, you know, just hanging by a wall as you do! I’ve had the joy of travelling north to Newcastle with my fella for the weekend, which got me rather excited. I love getting out of Sydney for a bit, creeping through unknown op shops looking for undiscovered treasure. I usually get pretty lucky there, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case this time round. Nothing...

Spotted on Wilson St, Newtown.
For me, this scene seems straight out of a little romantic town in Italy, somewhere with lots of great cheese and wine. The graceful lady rider would hop on her bike in a vintage dress, straw hat and head off to get some fresh bread, placed in her wicker basket of course!
Unfortunately, this beauty was spotted on the way into work today. Alas, I am not in that romantic little Italian town and...

Put a hat on that.
Hello, all good here!
Roofer’s have come and gone, presumably having fixed my leaks (although the real test is today.. the rain hasn’t stopped while I’ve been at work! I’ll let you know if there are still problems). This I wore to work, minus the hat. I’m just curious, if you work in an office setting, at a desk, do you feel kinda silly/rude wearing a hat...

Dragon Blue
I don’t even know how, but I really truly get THE WORST bruises on my shins from riding my bike. Honestly, people see them and ask if everything is okay.. They are even worse today!
To set the record straight- yep, alls good. ‘cept my roof hasn’t been fixed yet (ahh, rental properties!) so please don’t mind the towel in the background below.
I can’t even...

Gettin' to know you...
Meet Wooly..
A lovely, although slightly rusted, dude hanging out in my uncle’s garden until a few weeks ago!
Yes, his rear is a little less welcoming..
His pedals and tyres and gears need work..
But he was made in Japan!
So we decided (it is for the best) we should start our relationship off with a bang, and get him clean and sparkly before too long!
Armed with rust...

Green out.
I’ve been having the worst luck with my flat.. Sydney has been experiencing uncharacteristic heavy rain/thunder/wind and all round bad weather but unfortunately the heat/humidity haven’t budged.
This means no riding bike to work.. instead I’m waiting for full/late buses, and worst of all, I’m dealing with several roof leaks! One right onto my couch and another onto...

And I didn't wear my helmet.
Yesterday, for the first time, I took my bike for a run to the supermarket.
And I didn’t wear my helmet.
Probably because the ride consisted of very quiet back streets. I must have been inspired by the photo of my Grandma. And let me tell you, it sure felt good to go helmet-free. Not that I’ll continue with the trend. I usually take it off when I ride through campus but then it...
